From the south, take the Kendal (South Lakes) turn junction 36 off the M6 then follow the A591 all the way to Windermere (approximately 12 miles from the moptorway). Keep to the speed limits - there's a pair of speed cameras in Ings village and often a camera van parked on the A591 - we wouldn't want you to start your holiday on a downer! As you approach Windermere village you'll see the rear of The Terrace on your left hand side. It's the first row of houses you come to as you enter the village. There is a sign outside Boston House with a picture of the 3 houses on. The entrance to The Terrace is immediately after the end house on your left hand side. It's a tight corner so make sure you're going slow enough. If you pass the Windermere Hotel on your right you've overshot the houses.
From the north, take the Keswick turn off the M6 then follow the A592 past Ullswater then over the Kirkstone pass to Windermere. As you drop down the hill into Windermere you'll come to a mini-roundabout, turn left onto the A591 and after about a mile you'll see the Windermere Hotel on your left hand side and the turn for Windermere and Booths supermarket on your right hand side, carry on and immediately after the hotel turn right on to The Terrace.
N.B If you are coming from the north in the winter when there's adverse weather it may be quick and safer to carry on down the M6 southwards until you get to the Kendal Junction then follow the directions as if approaching from the south.

From the Terrace turn left onto Victoria street and follow the road downhill leaving Booths Supermarket on your left handside after a few hundred metres you'll reach a mini roundabout - Cumbrian Cottages offices will be straight ahead of you
